How long do Restylane injections last?

Restylane is a dermal filler that can be injected into the skin to increase volume, diminish facial lines and wrinkles, and revitalize the lips and nasolabial folds for a more youthful appearance.

Hyaluronic acid, the major component of all three Restylane treatment, is a chemical that occurs naturally in the body and helps the skin retain moisture and have better suppleness. This product is ideal for clean, precise lines because it does not spread from the injection point. It is used to fill in the lips and laugh lines.

Similar to Juvederm Voluma, Restylane Lyft can be used to add volume to the cheek areas as well as along the mandible and jaw. To treat the tiny wrinkles around the mouth, use Restylane Silk. Injections of Restylane can last for up to six to twelve months.

How is Restylane Administered?

Depending on the number of places being treated and the severity of the wrinkles, a typical Restylane treatment can last more or less than 30 minutes. The doctor may mark the places to be injected after carefully cleaning the face. The Restylane will then be gradually injected into the patient's skin using a soft cannula until the patient's desired shape and contours are achieved. The majority of patients experience no pain following the first needle prick.

However numbing cream can be applied prior to the procedure to further improve the patient's comfort. Up until the patient's face has regained its young contours, with volume restored and wrinkles and furrows reduced, the practitioner will keep injecting Restylane into the troublesome regions.

What Are the Different Types of Restylane?

All of the Restylane line's products are injectable, volume-replenishing fillers made of hyaluronic acid. Depending on the type of treatment a patient wants, each product is specially prepared to produce the best outcomes.

  • Restylane SilkFDA approved for minimizing lines around the mouth and subtly enhancing the lips. It is able to create a more precise and delicate contour since it contains finer particles than other Restylane products.

  • Restylane LyftThe first filler that the FDA has approved to treat volume loss in the hands' backs. Additionally, it can be used to address mild to moderate face wrinkles as well as for cheek augmentation (such as smile lines). Lyft has a lifespan of up to 18 months (before requiring a touch-up) and contains the topical Allurant Medical SPA in its formulation to lessen discomfort.

  • Restylane Defyne and Restylane RefyneTarget conditions including smile lines and marionette lines, which are caused by volume loss in the lower face and around the lips. Both Defyne and Refyne have a more adaptable chemical composition, which lessens the "frozen" appearance often associated with fillers and gives you results that look more natural. While Restylane Defyne treats moderate to severe cases, Restylane Refyne is used to treat more mild and superficial fine lines and wrinkles.

What is Recovery like After Restylane Treatment?

Restylane Treatment are visible to patients right away. Patients should refrain from engaging in hard activity and exercise that day, but they can begin engaging in typical, light activities as soon as they feel capable. Patients should refrain from touching or adjusting the treated regions for the first day following the procedure.

For the first night, patients are encouraged to sleep with their heads supported by many pillows. The Restylane family of fillers typically provide results that last between 10 months and two years, but patients may think about getting additional treatments as needed to maintain their results.
